The Canon Powershot G series has unleashed some incredible features coming with the newly upgraded cameras. They all bring a formidable presence and are a must for the amateur or the really adept photographer. There have been compact cameras as well as experimental cameras of high flamboyance coming from the house of Canon. This again is a compact set that is ideal for the keen photographer on the go.

This brings a great point of view to your photographic journaling and allows you the freedom and space with its swift efficacy. It has got definite ways to bring zoom in range, proper flexibility, lens adjustment, built-in quality of high manual control as well as some of the greater flexible resources that help for better photographic skills that you would love to develop. There are bright and convincing lens specialization that bring in proper performance and control of major light performance activities. The Panasonic’s LX3 is also one of the greater sources of bringing in these facilities of high quality as well as effective control feature to the camera.

There are certain important sides of exploring your creative genius that can only be done through a really great camera. The G11 seems to work best with some of the most interesting positions. There are no conflicts in it in regards to some of the greater incorporation of the Canon facilities. There is high sensitivity reward allowing for the model to work in countless ways. There are no specific disadvantages as reported by any reviewer while using this particular model. The whole image along with larger file sizes come through higher and greater pixels. They have a long extending memory card that can bring in greater complication through application of demosaicing and bringing noise reduction facilities.

The larger photos can be adjusted through pixel dense sensor looks and they can thus receive more light into their grains through this way. This model thus works as a great flagship compact that works as a handy all-rounder coming from the house of Canon. The same exposure that is understood through larger pictures can be used in the less dense and lower pixel sensors.

The body style of this particular camera can be traced back to G7 and there are many existing G-series processes that can be owned through the reduction of some of the latest features. The new features are definitely quite handy and one who gets used to them will find more problems adjusting to these new aspects. There happens to be step by step re-inclusion of new ranges of developments coming across these. The final resolution definitely gives a clearer picture with all the related resources coming through steadily.

It is overall a well featured camera that can bring in some swiveling density to work with the new features. This is appealing to many people who want to experiment with new styles in photography. The G10 got released and soon enough Panasonic and Olympus saw their respective components thrown big into the competition. The G11 from Canon is however larger than that and throws back a lot of competition of its shoulders.

Canon PowerShot S90

The Canon PowerShot S-series has returned with a bang. Now the S90 is available. It has impressive features, excellent image quality, and user experience. Plus, there is also Dual Anti-Noise System with an f/2.0 wide angle lens, a 3.0 inch, PureColor II LCD display, and an intuitive new lens Control Ring.

There is high sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel image sensor, and there is Canon’s enhanced DIGIC 4 image processor. You would be able to capture full resolution pictures, even if you are photographing in tricky lighting conditions, because the Dual Anti-Noise System takes maximum advantage of the light that is available, and reduces the image noise substantially. This camera is great for low-light portrait and also for landscape photography; you would be able to shoot high quality resolution images even at ISO 3200. DIGIC 4 also gives you an enhanced version of i-Contrast – which is Canon’s Intelligent Contrast Correction technology, this gives you a wider dynamic range to reduce the high light blowout, while at the same time retaining the low-light detail.

So what’s the advantage of the f/2.0 wide angle lens? Well, it helps photographers take maximum advantage of the Dual Anti Noise System. The f/2.0 wide angle lens allows much more light into the camera as an f/2.8 lens (in fact, twice as much as usual), and this allows you to use faster shutter speeds with the intention of reducing the amount of blur, or even achieving a shallower depth of field.

The wonderful S90 also has Canon’s optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology, this uses a lens-shift system to minimize the camera shake and also the image blur – thus as a photographer you have a 4-stop advantage over those cameras that are less capable. The Canon PowerShot S90 also gives you a 3.0 inch LCD display, this features Canon’s PureColor II LCD technology – which would essentially allow you to frame and review images easily, due to an exceptionally wide viewing angle, 461k dot resolution, and the color rendition is absolutely great!

The Canon PowerShot S90 gives you sophisticated performance, as well as sensationally easy use. There is a huge range of powerful manual and automatic controls, which gives you a lot of creative freedom as a photographer. For instance, there is the intuitive lens Control Ring – this allows you to adjust the settings of different functions by twisting the selector at the base of the lens barrel to the left, or the right. In fact, the Control Ring can be used as a quasi-manual zoom, which offers a closer view of subjects in 28mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 85 mm, and 105 mm steps.

There are other settings that you can assign – like ISO (in 1/3 stop increments), aperture, shutter, focus and exposure compensation – this gives you a very satisfyingly tactile experience as a photographer. The Control Ring enhances the user interaction with the camera – it offers fast, accurate, scrolling through menu and images. If you are on the new Nostalgic Mode, the Control Ring can also be used to give an aged effect to the shot, right from a subtle faded look to full graining black and white.

The Canon PowerShot S90 gives you smarter scene detection as well – you can choose from different Scene Modes, and choose the best settings for a particular situation, this option is ideal for adding creative effects, or when shooting in difficult lighting. There is a new Low Light mode, which can help you capture reduced resolution 2.5 Megapixel images in dim light, at ISO speeds of up to ISO 1200 and at a fast 2.4 frames per second.

There are other creative modes like AE, Program AE, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual and Custom Modes. The menu navigation system is new and improved, thus it’s much easier for you to choose and use different camera settings. There is also a Hints and Tips feature on most of the frames and settings.

With the Canon PowerShot S90, you also get fine custom adjustment of the camera’s white balance setting, this allows compensation of different kinds of fluorescent, tungsten, and other light conditions for perfect results every time.

Other features include HD output, Optical Image Stabilization, RAW shooting, 10 million pixels sensor, and Low Light Mode.

The HV30 from Canon is a suitable candidate to be contested with Sony’s recently released HDR-S11 camcorder. The thing you may find common in both of them is their price and variety of features.

They both have the ability to move footage directly in iMovie. However, these are formats were you can find the basic difference.

In MiniDV you would find a format of cassette tape that makes recording workable with HDV it means that will provide a lot better bit rate with least undesired artefacting and lower image compression than a SSD that is being used in AVCHD codec.

When it comes to MiniDV tapes, they are also quite switch-able and many times stronger than the usual hard drives.

The HV30 is, indeed, one of the most user-friendly cameras available these days. Its menu system doesn’t put you in any difficulty even for a moment and you would find each and every button quite self explanatory.

It is not as compact as the HDR-S11 and you may feel it quite chunky to hold and it’s mainly due to the bulging tape that you have under your palm when holding it, and so is its strap that is not breathable and you may find it sticky using on some hot day.

The HV30 also looks a lot similar to the previous year’s award winning camera the HV20. You may find that the only difference between these two is color, otherwise, it is quite difficult to differentiate them.

However, some small improvements have been made in it, as its zoom closure is quite solid and reactive than the previous one. But the power system, export options, menu systems, shape and size, lens and interface are still the same.

Its ½.7” CMOS sensor and DVII DIGIC processor have great imaging prowess ,as this is the similar paring that you can see the HV20 as well as in the HR10. When it comes to image stabilization, you would find it superb even when zooming full. The same is true about its still shots.

If are looking for a really nice camcorder, the Canon HV30 is the thing that can serve your purpose best, as it provides the a lot better quality image than many HDD models available with the similar price tags.
