With a new Corei7 and an array of new mobile models, Intel is going to update its chips’ price list.

The Core i7 or the Nehalem is an update that various gamers have been anticipating for quite some time, the chip was first introduced during November last year, and now this new update from Intel is going to include i7-975 core that has 8 threads, 4 cores 8M L3 cache and 3.33GHz processor. It will be available with the price tag of $999.

The given threads in this new update can double the tasks which some processor can perform these days. QPI stands for Quick Path Interconnect technology which is Intel’s newly introduced technology.  The given specs are quite similar except the 3.06 GHz clock speed it will be available with the price tag of $562.

The i7-975 along with Nvidia GeForce 1GB GTS 250 graphics card can be configured in HP’s m9600T tower in just $1900.

Falcon Northwest and some other vendors are offered in other decked out systems along with higher price tags.

Another much anticipated chip in this connection was Intel’s ULV processors. Some of these devices were listed in March, but SU2700 that is 10-watt architecture based Pentium is new in this list. A fund of US$4.5 has been dedicated to install smart-grid technologies by the federal Recovery Act. Moblin has been designed to run on Intel Atom processor initially, we can’t say that it is not compatible with other processors. Yet the officially confirmed compatibility is the Acer Aspire one and Dell Mini.

It is told on the project website that Moblin can run on Eee PCs easily. But there are minute problems in running Moblin on Eee PCs; it has some problems with the wireless networking systems.

We hope that after Moblin takes flight of liking and success, it will be developed for Core 2 CPUs and other makes too. It is a great deal of work on Intel’s part as it has been refining Windows since its release without thinking of developing any other operating system.

Now with Moblin, Intel will be able to grab the market of netbooks and low power devices which were hungry for a quality operating system.

At present any details are declined from Intel. The details are said to be revealed at the conference on 9th February.

The only information given in this regard is that eight-core 16-thread processor manufactured with a 45-nanometer process will be discussed by Intel executives.

Nick Jacobs, a company spokesman in Singapore said, “We are presenting 16 papers at ISSCC, but don’t have anything further to share at this point.”

Speculations are there about the upcoming eight-core Xeon processor that it might be a Nehalem EP processor. Nehalem is a chip that is soon coming. It is designed for workstations and dual socket servers.

This portion of the Xeon line requires a change, and to serve the purpose Nehalem is there. The release of Nehalem is time framed within the first quarter of 2009

There were rumors about Nvidia’s new plans for stepping into the gorgeous netbook market during 09.

Nvidia’s Vice President, Rene Hass has said in an interview that: “We are considering developing a new platform that can attach to the Atom.”

Earlier it was reported that Nvidia was planning to substitute its well-known three chip design with a new two chip combo of the Atom and 9400M Geforce.”

“When the Geforce 9400M is combined with the Atom, there is, indeed, an interesting platform that makes a nice PC with full functionality,” Hass added.

It is exciting to note that Hass has claimed that the new combination of the Atom and the Geforce 9400M will help developing applications to put full streaming of HD videos workable on some netbook.

“Form factor, lightness and other such things are cool, but people want something that can really boost users’ experience,” Hass stated.
