<p>This new laser was discovered when scientists were experimenting with a quantum cascade laser and it requires less power than a traditional laser beam.</p>
<p>Solid-state lasers that initiated in DVD players are considerably bigger than Quantum cascade lasers.</p>
<p><span id="more-1455"></span></p>
<p>Though they are even thinner than a single hair, these lasers have a lot of layers as well as semiconductor materials too that have the thickness of only a few atoms.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.technologygear.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/31738.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1456" title="31738" src="http://www.technologygear.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/31738.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="470" /></a></p>
<p>This new kind of laser is not sensitive enough to heat and it can run well even at low available current and because of this quality it can prove quite helpful for different devices like industrial sensors and medical tools.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.technologygear.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/11455_web.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1457" title="11455_web" src="http://www.technologygear.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/11455_web.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="470" /></a></p>
<p>Kale Franz is the discoverer of this new type of laser. He said about the findings that they would prove quite helpful to boost laser performance.</p>
