A confidential document, which has been received from a partner of the company, says that T-Mobile is planning to introduce a home phone as well as a tablet computer next year and they both will run on Google’s Android software.

When Peter Dobrow, a T-Mobile spokesman, was asked about these new plans, he refused to comment on specs of some future products, but he confirmed that the company was planning for many Android based devices.

T-Mobile is quite well-known as the fourth largest wireless carrier in the UK and in August last year, it became the first carrier to offer a cellphone based on Android software.

Though Android is being named as open source software, yet Google has some control over it. However, the other companies will be able to alter the software according to their requirements.

Well, this time T-Mobile has beaten its rivals Carphone Warehouse and O2, by announcing that the company will be the first to bring the BlackBerry Curve 8900 (also known as Javelin) in the UK.

Carphone Warehouse and O2 were expected to launch the phone in UK on Dec.20, but T-Mobile is bringing the phone a week earlier.

To get your BlackBerry Curve 8900 for free, all you need to do is just signing up a £35 contract, and it will provide users unlimited email send and receive as well as web browsing.

The thing that has not told about the contract is its duration and you may have to walk clumsily with the phone for even more than two years.

Now the handset, which features a 2.4-inch screen, Wi-Fi , a 3.2 mega pixel camera, QWERTY keyboard with a slim and impressive design, will also be able to get a direct link with iTunes. So, get ready to take your tunes through the memory card for expansion.

The UK suppliers of the phone Carphone Warehouse, T-Mobile and O2 had already confirmed that the phone to be appearing in UK on 20 December,

but the thing that perplexed the issue was RIM statement in which it explained that a date wasn’t decided yet.

But, now the related problems have been fixed and RIM has itself announced 20 Dec. as arriving date for the handset.

Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie says in this connection that Apple is contrarily ready to facilitate plug-ins such as Flash and Silverlight.

“We are keen to be able to run Silverlight on the iPhone, but still whatever software is run on the iPhone is ultimately controlled by Apple.” Guthrie says.

“Now, whatever they have said is that they are considering enabling browser plug-ins such as Flash or Silverlight to run on the phone.”

On the other hand, Silverlight on Andriod is looking more promising as it’s an open source OS that has been developed by many companies including Google.

T-mobile’s G1 Android, which is the first Android phone, has huge pre-orders and Microsoft will surely consider this platform.

According to Guthrie, “Google phone is somewhat different and it’s for an open platform that we are looking at.”

The T-Mobile G1 will be the first device to run the search giant’s operating system. The handset features a touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard as well.

In UK, the device will be available in time for Christmas with T-Mobile tariffs of over £40 per month including unlimited internet browsing.

A 3mp camera, a browser that can be zoomed in by tapping the screen, and a ‘one click’ contextual search are some other features. It also has wi-fi and 3G with built-in support for YouTube.

Users will also be provided access to the so-called Android Market, where they can download from a wide range of applications.

In November last year, Google announced its plans for the Android phone software with the aim of making web access easier while on the move.

Google also revealed the Open Handset Alliance that was a partnership of more than 30 firms to make phone software easier to work with.

In this group, operators like Telefonica were also included aside from handset makers such Motorola, HTC and chip makers like Intel and Qualcomm as well.

At the Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona in mid-February, many of these partners showed early prototype Android phones.

The basic idea behind Android was to do the same what Linux software has done for PCs.
