Google has extended a new filing service beyond all boundaries. This service allows users to use 1 GB of space to store any data. The application is termed Google Apps called upload any file type.

This is talk already it seems similar to ‘G Drive’ but refuted-by Google. The Google Apps are also being enhanced in a few weeks so that users may easily upload and share all the files / informations intentionally and 250 Mb files.

The storage per user is 1GB but he can avail upto 250MB comparable space. There is no need to connect to your internal office network and no need for files emailing. Just use a company network drive and access your files using Google Docs from web enabled computer.

The folder sharing in Google Docs is infact projecting a combined team effort among co-workers and general users.

The emailing is reduced as you can upload files to a folder and can be shared with colleagues who can edit the files jointly also. The external clients and sales staff can also share revival if needed.
Chrome OS

The Google Chrome OS will be released sometime in 2010 that will allow online storage beyond several gigabytes allotted to Gmail user account.
The Google recommends that if Google Apps Premier users stay within the allotted 1GB limit, this limit will soon be enhanced. Above could be purchased just as the Gmail limit was increased. The next few months would enable the customers to purchase additional storage for 3.50 / GB / Year (€ 3.00 / GB / Year).

Please be clear that not the G-drive but online shareable file storage from Google allows you to store any file type.

Despite Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt’s, resignation from the Apple board. The Federal Trade Commission continues to investigate on these issues.

The US FTC has just started to look at some of the Schmidt facts on board with Apple as well as Google. There has been increased productivity with Schmidt’s resignation that has cited that Google is going for core business with Apple.

However under certain pressures Apple seemed to have drawn a line in regards to their situation with Google. There have been persuasive interventions in regards to Google’s business with Apple. FTC director Richard Feinstein has always insisted that the investigations need to be pursued further.

The scrutiny goes on to locate certain underlying factors through their companies for quite some time. It is easy to see certain increased interest in some of the conflicts with the interests of the two parties involved. They have even declared to close past relationships in the new situations.

Google apart from its various services has also stepped in to selling e books, becoming a major rival for Amazon. Google has happened to have had discussions with the publishers at the annul BookExpo convention in New York last weekend. Google has shown interest towards the e-book market which is being dominated by Amazon. In its discussion with the publishers, Google has offered to set their own consumer prices for the digital version of their books which is normally set at $9.99 by Amazon.

So, the publishers who had concerns about the aggressive pricing strategy of Amazon have welcomed Google’s offer. Thus it appears to be a major setback for Amazon. But by selling e-books at $9.99 for a hard-cover worth $26, Amazon seems to incur some loss as the prices set by them is lesser than the general prices set by the publishers for the book sellers which would be half the price of hardcover, typically around $13 or $14.

Though such plans taken up by Google didn’t go well, Tom Turvey, director of strategic partnerships at Google, has added the phrase “This time we mean it.” in a presentation at the BookExpo. It seems like Google has already scanned millions of books from several university libraries and a majority of which are out of print. It looks like Google has a separated the settlement for the publishers from its e-book retail program.

Yahoo boss Carol Bartz believes that they are still outperforming Google in certain areas; she said that by defending her ailing organization at the All Things Digital D7 conference.

“No doubt, Google is doing remarkably well in search and some other things like maps, as it has been reported at ATD, but at the same time, they do not have the same reach and position what we have right now.”

“People seem to connect Google when they need to search something, while for us people come to be informed, and we are trying to do our best to become more personal than Google and right now our search engine accounts for nearly 20% searches on the internet.”

Bartz also pointed that they are still willing to relinquish their search business, but only when Microsoft agrees to come with the right technology and boatloads of money.

Apparently, the two companies are still in talks, but they are going on quite slowly and it seems to choke those rumors that surfaced with the LiveSearch update from Microsoft and that is expected to be unveiled at the D7 conference.

Right now Yahoo seems to focus on hyper local market that provides related information of the context for the things that users usually think about. And on Yahoo sports, users can watch their videos for Flip videos.

Bartz is also looking for streamlining the key characteristics of the company and also trying to make internet experience on cell phone as forceful and compelling as on the PCs.

We have been hearing about it nearly for the past three years, as it’s in stealth development and now quite staggeringly they have launched it right at the when things are changing quite dramatically on the web scene. Well, we are talking about Topsy search engine

Alta Vista was a search engine that determined web page relevance for some query and then came the time when web began to be viewed as the documents network with Google. And right now almost all the search engines are trying to analyze linking approach all over the web.

If there are more links for a web page, it begins to get more influence and gets more attention than the pages that are involved in this competition of attention. As Jeff Jarvis has previously said that links would serve as a currency in the coming online world and it’s proving true right now, as they serve to build branding, granting authority and equaling value.

Right loads of real time content is being created these days and it can’t be kept up by Google or some search engines. A considerable quantity of this content relates to Twitter, but some other players like Digg, Facebook, FreindFeed and some other are continuously adding in it. That is where Topsy can reap the full benefit. it can’t be reckoned as a search engine for real time like Scoopler, contrarily, it’s just a search engine that seems to offer new ways of getting some new results.

There are more than 30m or even more Twitter users that are no less than a crowd of small content finding machines and according to Topsy these users are providing millions of unique links on the site everyday and these links really relates to catchy things found online and these Tweets would be the new currency of the web instead of traditional links.

Source: techcrunch

Younghee Lee, who marketing head at Samsung Mobile, says in an interview with the Guardian that Samsung is more likely to launch its handset with Google OS in the later half of this year.

She also says that Samsung itself will design the phone instead of framing it out to some other cell phone maker. The launch of the handset has been planned for the second half of this year.

Samsung is one of those cell phone makers that belong to almost all mobile phone alliance working out there, its phone running on Windows Mobile, S60 and now Android is also expected.

Another well-known and important member of the Open Handset Alliance is LG and there are rumors that it will come with its Android handset at World Mobile Congress.

Recently, Samsung has released its new flagship smartphone, the Toccoo before the event, as rumors mill goes on the company will also bring at least one dozen other handsets to shine in the event. So what if Android is not there, Samsung has a lot of other things to make you excited.

According to Eric Chu of Google, The Android market “will support priced applications starting early Q1 2009″. Meaning thereby, the users will have to pay for the developers, which gives a bit of uneasy feelings. But the eventual results will definitely be better.

The payment to application developers will first begin in America and United Kingdom in early quarter of 2009. Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, Spain and Italy will also be included later.

Google is also planning to widen the market for Android. Previously it is sold in Europe and specific Asian countries.

Now Android will be reaching to people in Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. Soon with the launch of G1 sets in America, Android will be coming to the new market at the same time.

Android has a strong market value. It is an intelligent phone operating server just like the iPhone. People can use it to download and share information on quick and easy grounds.

The Android users are also allowed to leave comment about the application they download.

At the time of its launch, there were around 50 applications in Android. This expanded to a large number when Google opened it in the market for developers.

Android has been widely liked. Previously the users of Android had been enjoying a lot of free stuff, as the application developers were not getting paid for their efforts.

The payment to application developers was the only aspect that was absent. But now it too has been covered.

A 3mp camera, a browser that can be zoomed in by tapping the screen, and a ‘one click’ contextual search are some other features. It also has wi-fi and 3G with built-in support for YouTube.

Users will also be provided access to the so-called Android Market, where they can download from a wide range of applications.

In November last year, Google announced its plans for the Android phone software with the aim of making web access easier while on the move.

Google also revealed the Open Handset Alliance that was a partnership of more than 30 firms to make phone software easier to work with.

In this group, operators like Telefonica were also included aside from handset makers such Motorola, HTC and chip makers like Intel and Qualcomm as well.

At the Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona in mid-February, many of these partners showed early prototype Android phones.
