The trackpad freezes after almost 50 clicks because of some unknown reasons and it starts working again after another 10 failed clicks.

If that fault appears as hardware related, it can be a big problem for the company that may lead to a messy recall and make many without a shiny MacBook. However, Apple claims that the problem will be fixed with a simple software update.

Steve Jobs told a customer via email: “Software will be available soon to fix the problem soon.” This make people think that the problem is Software related.

This email leads to further speculation as Steve Jobs doesn’t like to type email responses with more than three or four words.

It has also been told that the humble MacBook is undergoing the sametrackpad problem and will also be settled with the coming software update.

The ‘Brick’ (as rumors are) is a top-end notebook computer that has been constructed with a single block of aluminum and it will address those concerns that many users had regarding Apple’s svelte Air notebook launched earlier this year.

Another rumor circulating these days is that a MacBook is available at just $800.

Though the price is low and idea is exciting, it looks somewhat uncompetitive given the quantity and sometimes quality of Intel Atom-powered netbooks available out there.

The rumor mill doesn’t seem to stop here, as some other suggestions floating around that MacBooks 13-inch will be getting an aluminum skin, WiMax wireless connectivity and Blu-ray drives may also find their way into these notbooks.

For accurate rumor-free details you will have to wait till next Tuesday (Oct.14) as Apple is going to reveal all at a Cupertino press conference on that days.

According to Asus claims, the machine weighs even less than a kg and specs are better than Apple’s MacBook Air.
So far specs are concerned; the S101 has an Intel Atom processor and Intel 945 Express graphics, an integrated four-in-one card reader, 3 USB ports , easily changeable battery( with a good lifespan of five hours), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a nice RJ-45 Ethernet socket.

Now lets talk about the size (it does matter!), the S101 is 18-25mm thick with a multitouch trackpad and a 10.2-inch 1024×768 high resolution screen. The thing that makes it somewhat inferior is an underwhelming 0.3-megapixel webcam.

The S101 will be available in Windows XP Home versions as well as in two Linux versions.

Some reports seem to suggest that the keyboard of the S101 is somewhat better than the currently available batch of netbooks and it can prove a sales tipping point for many.

The fashion savvies will find the S101 in a wide range of colours including graphite, brown and champagne. The S101 will be available in early November with a price tag of £449.

The next Tuesday will be the day when Apple is going to launch some of its new products. It is expected that the release will be all about a new iPod Touch, updated iPod Nanos and iMac range of 20-24inch that has received a speed boost with faster processor and more memory.

There are also talks about the new designs of MacBook and MacBook Pro (that may be available in aluminum casing), but it seems that they may not be ready till next week.

Similarly, much-awaited cheap mini-notebook, which is being called the rival of Asus eee PC, may not appear this year but we must hope for the best.

The price of Apple’s fastest, thinnest and lightest MacBook Air has been quietly dropped by the company.
It appears that the price reduction is a result of a $400 drop in the price of the 64-GB hard drive and a $ 100 drop in 1.8-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The new price of the deluxe model is $ 2,598.There is no change in the price of the base model that has a 1.6-GHz processor and it remains $1,799.

During the last week, the price of the quicker notebook was around $3,098, as narrated in a promoting note found on Google’s search cache during the last week. The Apple-enthusiast site MacRumors.com uncovered the item. A reduction of $200 from $300 was made in the processor upgrade while the price of hard-disk was dropped $599 from $999.
It’s not a new thing for computer makers as they often drop prices with the drop in component prices. The Air was unveiled in January at the Macworld Conference in San Francisco.

The machine is a class of its own with its 13.3—inch display large size keyboard, 3 lbs weight and extremely thin hinge.
This thinness of the machine has been achieved in part by a smallerized 65-nanmeter Core 2 Duo processor that has been derived from Intel’s older Merom line. The processor consumes less power while delivering comparable speeds and it is almost 60% smaller than the usual Merom chip but at the same time it is considerably slower than the new Intel Core 2 Duo processors that have been used in other new notebooks.

The inches in the MacBook Air have also been decreased by utilizing a slimmer hard drive and reducing its CD/DVD optical SuperDrive on the whole.

1 Terabyte hard disk for 17-Inch MacBook: Isn’t it a noteworthy storage increase for 17-inch MacBook Pro owners. Besides some other mods, it also changes MacBook supportive visual drive a 2.5-inch hard drive with 500GB and hit the thrilling 1TB score. Another matching 5400 rpm 500GB drive will replace the laptop’s standard hard disk.
Can you guess its cost? One shouldn’t expect less than $800 and may increase if MCE installs that kit for you.

This 1 Terabyte hard disk consists of the new MCE’s SATA 500GB optical bay hard drive and 500GB MobileStore Internal SATA Hard Drive, besides an external inclusion for the original inner hard drive and an inclusion for the moveable inner Super drive.

This MCE’s OptiBay Hard drive substitutes the internal SuperDrive of MacBook Pro with an elevated 500GB hard disk.
To maintain CD/DVD reading/writing functions of the original inner optical drive, it has been replaced by the OptiBay Hard Drive. Slim outsider USB 2.0 attachment converts optical drive into a bootable SuperDrive and makes it as friendly with iDVD, iTunes as it was before.

Installation

This upgrade can be installed easily and one can install it oneself, however, if someone doesn’t feel comfortable while working on one’s laptop, the product can be installed by MCE Technologies or some other worldwide Authorized Centers. If one wants MCE to Install these upgrade, one will have to pay $149 for Supreme OptiBay installation services while $99 for the Standard OptiBay Installation services.

Some noteworthy features

It has high performance spindle speeds around 5400RPM, 500GB standard inner hard drive and 500GB OptiBay hard drive, bootable, it easily sets up by applying Apple’s Disk Utility program, it can be portioned, used as a single capacity and can also be made part of RAID array. It has external inclusion for the real inner hard disk. One can use one drive as time machine backup of the other with Leopard
