There are going to be some really good IE8 tab performance issues. These updates make for some of the best of Windows 7 testers creating newly baked ideas for Microsoft. The IE 8 release will work independently on its own without any adherence to the functioning of Windows XP and Vista.

There must be some major relief from Microsoft with the well isolated IE 8 tabs and the endless take on the given site. This might be a problem as well if you are operating through your ThinkPad X60. The IE add-ons are just some of the regular ways through which you can prune up the current status of the IE.

Credit: microsoft

A ThinkPad with one GB RAM would certainly be giving some major blocks to the IE functioning. When people get dissatisfied with IE performances at the end of the day, they can really get the choice of shifting to Chrome or Firefox.

Even with Gmail being ever so popular Yahoo Mail is still on top among mail users. In a recent survey even though speculations were higher on Gmail, Yahoo proved to be the first choice for users worldwide. Next come Windows Hotmail with Google Mail on the 3rd spot. The followers happen to be AOL Email, Comcast.net WebMail, AIM Mail, ATT Webmail, Verizon Webmail, Roadrunner Webmail and Incredible.com.

However Google is gaining popularity fast but it would be long and a great leap for it till they catch up with Yahoo’s No.1 position if they keep growing in the current speed.

ComScore’s latest figures are all about the e-mail market showing Yahoo as 106.2 million users strong. This year it is about to grow into this new market reaching even some more million users.

Google still has a lot of catching up to do but with the current pace they just might in the next year. Microsoft’s Hotmail is also growing fast with 47.1 million users while Gmail only boats of 36.9 million users.

Yahoo boss Carol Bartz believes that they are still outperforming Google in certain areas; she said that by defending her ailing organization at the All Things Digital D7 conference.

“No doubt, Google is doing remarkably well in search and some other things like maps, as it has been reported at ATD, but at the same time, they do not have the same reach and position what we have right now.”

“People seem to connect Google when they need to search something, while for us people come to be informed, and we are trying to do our best to become more personal than Google and right now our search engine accounts for nearly 20% searches on the internet.”

Bartz also pointed that they are still willing to relinquish their search business, but only when Microsoft agrees to come with the right technology and boatloads of money.

Apparently, the two companies are still in talks, but they are going on quite slowly and it seems to choke those rumors that surfaced with the LiveSearch update from Microsoft and that is expected to be unveiled at the D7 conference.

Right now Yahoo seems to focus on hyper local market that provides related information of the context for the things that users usually think about. And on Yahoo sports, users can watch their videos for Flip videos.

Bartz is also looking for streamlining the key characteristics of the company and also trying to make internet experience on cell phone as forceful and compelling as on the PCs.

This teamwork seems to promise a rich and seamless web-based video viewing experience through Intel’s cable set-top boxes, digital TVs, Blu-ray Disc players and AV devices.

The last couple of years were of mixed sort for Adobe’s flash software, as Apple refused to bring Flash to the iPhone, while Microsoft came up with its Silverlight. Well, it was a double blow for it.

However, Intel has decided to back that format in its coming Media Processor and you would see it with Adobe first Flash Lite version that is expected by the end of 2nd quarter.

According to intel’s William Leszinske Jr., “The CE3100 Media Processor provides a highly integrated solution that offers flexible, but powerful technology foundation that will definitely provide a new life to HD capabilities of Flash,”

“We have joint forces with Adobe so that we may be able to accelerate a complete, but relevant experience of the Internet on TV it will offer access to users for an increasing number of Flash-based applications that can be enjoyed on various screens including laptop ,MID and now on the TV.”

Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie says in this connection that Apple is contrarily ready to facilitate plug-ins such as Flash and Silverlight.

“We are keen to be able to run Silverlight on the iPhone, but still whatever software is run on the iPhone is ultimately controlled by Apple.” Guthrie says.

“Now, whatever they have said is that they are considering enabling browser plug-ins such as Flash or Silverlight to run on the phone.”

On the other hand, Silverlight on Andriod is looking more promising as it’s an open source OS that has been developed by many companies including Google.

T-mobile’s G1 Android, which is the first Android phone, has huge pre-orders and Microsoft will surely consider this platform.

According to Guthrie, “Google phone is somewhat different and it’s for an open platform that we are looking at.”

In this Silverlight 2.0, several changes have been made such as advanced skinning and template for customization, shudder DRM content protection and new built-in controls.

With its deep zoom navigation and examining of high resolution images is quite easy and fast.

To create application for third parties companies, there are many new networking and developer tools that also include some open source resources.

Scott Guthrie, who is corporate vice president of the .NET Developer Division at Microsoft, says: “Sliverlight was launched just year ago and it has been installed by every one out of four consumers worldwide.”

According to Microsoft’s claims, Silverlight penetration in some countries is as high as 50 percent.
Microsoft knows well that users don’t really consider what mechanism they are about to use to have access for their content. These days the company is actively targeting big business to expand Silverlight growth. Reports suggest that Blockbuster, CBS, Hard Rock Café, Yahoo! Japan, Toyota and AOL are working on some particular Silverlight portals.

People who are already using previous version of Silverlight will have an automatic upgrade to Silverlight2.
In this new software support for Windows, Mac and Linux in Firefox ,Safari and Chrome has been also included.

The games will help children learn, as some reports suggest.

The multidisciplinary Institute (worth $3m) wants to recognize computer games engagement over students and to develop related personalized ways of teaching to use these games.

G4LI wants to include those pre-teen US children (particularly girls and minorities) who are excited about math, technology and engineering. Microsoft’s chief research and strategy officer Craig Mundie said: “This is, indeed, a great example that shows how technology can make students learn.”

According to some reports, the game prototypes will be evaluated by the G4LI that introduces them along with study plans in a network of 19 schools in New York City and then it will track the results in the classroom.

Ken Perlin, who is a professor of computer science at New York University, said: “Some students become uninterested or discouraged at school and like to spend their time at home into gaming and we think that gaming can be our starting point to draw these students into science, math and technology based programs.”

Though $3m sounds like a huge investment, it is just a minor thing if compared with the budget of a blockbuster game such as GTAIV .Above all it’s a nice idea.

It’s not only Microsoft that is preparing a new Xbox, behind closed doors, to succeed its Xbox 360, but Sony is also working on its PlayStation 4.

According to the Internet rumor mills, the next console battle is expected during 2011-2012 as it’s a time when industry analyst Colin Sebastian and Crytek’s CEO Cevat Yerli are expecting a possible Xbox 720 and PS4.

To know about the capabilities of a PS4, it is essential to know what this current PS3 has and what not. It seems that Sony will certainly need to closely assimilate the software development and hardware components for the PS4.

We may see some obvious technology upgrades like 802.11n chipset instead of 802.11b/g if the PS4 is just a restoration of the PS3. Similarly, we should expect a massive hard disk, an increase in the onboard memory, and a new graphics processor.

We may also see a replacement for the PS3’s NVIDIA-built RSX graphics processor? There are rumors as well that Microsoft may use Intel’s Larrabee chip in the coming Xbox to fix a real-time physics and AI.

We can consider a strong argument to drop an optical drive from the PS4 as the PS3 was somewhat involved in helping Blu-ray beat off HD DVD. We know well that game demos, full-length movies, TV shows and video trailers of gigabytes-worth are being downloaded by the console owners. In PS4, a mammoth hard disk would help to pipe the game straight to the console on the day of release and there would be no longer install load times.

What consumers really want from a PS4? Well, the consumers are expecting to have a machine that can play the best games and give them new tastes of gaming experience as they had from PS2. The PS4 can go one of two ways: the best all-capable box that provides integrated playTV, larger hard disk and Blu-ray and the other way is to present a pure gaming machine with mass market appeal.

Windows Search

A new version of Windows Search has been released by Microsoft. Windows Search is a recommended update for Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 users. There is a wealth of new features in the Windows Search 4.0. Some improvements over the previous version have also been made and that include better indexing in online e-mail and automatic indexing of shared folders.

Windows Search has been developed, basically, as a desktop search application that is very similar to Google’s Desktop Search. As some users have reported that in the previous versions of Windows Search indexing took several hours to complete but in this new version the development of an index of the files and other information take less time and the amount of time depends on disk space and quantity of stored files as well.

The factor behind that somewhat more time consumption is that the Windows Search not only indexes file names and attributes but also contents of these files that include different text formats like HTML and word documents. It indexes images and video formats as well.

Hamachi:

If you want to create virtual private networks on fly without configuration, a small freeware application Hamachi can be very handy for you. This application can be downloaded free from the hamachi homepage. After downloading you can instantly install and run the Software. There are versions for Windows, Linux and Macintosh OS X and it mans it can keep happy to all. The main advantage of Hamachi is that it provides you LAN on the Internet.

There are a lot of uses of LAN on the Internet but Hamachi has been especially designed while keeping gamers in mind. Now you need not to carry your computers to your friends as you can play games in LAN modus on the Internet. With most of games Hamachi works great without any configuration.

You PC desktop will serve as the world’s finest telescope

Microsoft will take you on those lands that you never visited before. The far off objects were never so near as they are now as just few clicks can turn your PC desktop into the world’s finest telescope like the Hubble Space Telescope.
Now you can explore space the way you want just using the mouse or Keyboard to gracefully zoom in and praise the nighttime sky. You can also get help from expert astronomers and scientists who accompany you on these excellent interactive tours.

All you need to explore the unknown worlds is a robust computer with Windows XP or Vista. It is true that Google Sky that works with Mac is somewhat a similar offer but while using Microsoft’s Application you may feel that you are going to catch a cab via universe.

This worldwide telescope is a real astonishing utilization of technology which has been described as the Visual Experience Engine by the Microsoft. However, the crossing point is a little scary and while using you will feel that you are getting lost in the space.

One thing more, while using this application you may encounter with an awkward software message like “Unhandled exemption has taken place in a part of your application.”

But collectively, it is praise worthy effort by the Microsoft that tries to develop an entertaining tool to boost the knowledge of astronomy in the kids of all ages. It really offers a thrilling and exciting experience when you want to zoom in the direction of Saturn or Neptune, then in a sudden, these plants appear in front of your eyes out of the unending emptiness of the space.

To start your space travel you need to download software from www.worldwidetelescope.org (to use Google Sky we only require a browser). The guided tours like Center of the Milky Way, Dust and Us are being considered a nice place to take a start. The drawback is that we require a long time to download and many among them have voiceovers.

A tour can be paused in the middle if you want to explore some part of some galaxy in a detailed way and the tour can be resumed from the same place where you left it. Through FinderScope you can realize about your position in the space and can also call a menu with some research links like Wikipedia and other online encyclopedia.
