Whenever you think of Nokia phones, a big range comes to your mind and pushing yourself to know more about them, by visiting a retail outlet or by surfing internet. But one thing is very important to know about Nokia or Nokia phones, that how did they started, what they had produced as first, or what is the evolution of Nokia company?

Here is the first mobile phone produced by the Nokia Cellular Company in 1989.

Nokia was initially involved in developing some mobile radio communication devices since 1960. These technologies were based on ‘oG’ standards, which were pre-cellular used in mobile radio telephony. The technology in your hands today is basically preceded from there, and now you Nokia have become the World’s largest mobile selling companies in the World. The demand is everywhere for Nokia phones and every time on the run.

In 1966, they first developed VHF Radio in affiliation with Salora, further they worked together to create ARP standard to innovate a car radio phone. It developed in 1971, and was fully operational and giving full coverage by end of 1978.

In 1979, they further worked together and developed Mobira Oy. This company proceeded to create mobile phones that happened to come alive in 1981.

In 1984, Nokia bought Salora Oy and gained full ownership of the company and named it Nokia-Mobira Oy. They launched World’s first Nokia phones in 1987, and gained anonymous boost and publicity later on. Today, Nokia phones are still high in demand and leading the World’s with its new, advanced, and every time better quality.

The research has started in the research HQ in UK and the company is sure of coming up with something exiting in the next few years. The principle to this is quite similar to that of RFID tags that is used in travel cards which draws its power from the nearby reader/writer terminals wirelessly.

Nokia has followed the same technology where its prototype mobile phones will draw power from the electromagnetic waves in the air and get them charged up with out need of any wire and electricity. Currently the company has managed to get mobile pull 5mW of power but feels it is not sufficient. Nokia also said in a couple of years it will develop phones that can draw up to 50mW.

The Nokia 6500 Classic is considered Nokia’s thinnest phone so far. It’s thin as well as stunningly beautiful with its polished metal casing. It has all what most people want from a phone, as it’s quite easy to use and excellent in making calls, taking pictures and playing music. This 3G phone has 1 GB memory and stereo headset, but the thing that is missing is video calling and similarly keypad is quite small and battery life is not impressive at all. It is available in Silver, Black and Bronze.

This slimmest Nokia 3G phone looks and feels quite charming with its sleek aluminum casing that comes in Black, Bronze and Silver. Though its keypad is a bit small, it is quite functional with nice navigation keys. A plain Series 40 interface and an ergonomic design make this phone quite easy to use. The thing that is really enjoyable is the large and ultra high-resolution LCD display that boasts the latest 16 million color display technology. The display allows you to easily customize with a choice of themes.

It features a 2 megapixel camera without autofocus, a competent music player but with support for Bluetooth stereo headsets, a video camera, good connectivity through Bluetooth and USB, and 1 GB fixed memory. It’s true that there nothing to get quite excited, but it has all that most people care about. It’s a 3G phone, but video calling is missing as there is no front-facing camera. A Nokia Stereo Headset HS-82 and a microUSB Connectivity Cable CA-101 have been included in the sales package that shows how generous Nokia is.

A fixed memory of 1GB is one of the unusual features of the 6500 Classic 920 Mb of it is available to the user .It has good as well as bad points. Let’s talk about bad first: there isn’t any slot to increase the memory beyond 1 GB, but 920MB is still enough to store 200-300 songs and it makes all memory accessible in one place with copying data from internal memory to memory card. We reckon it a good solution for a mid-range sort of phone like the 6500 Classic.

Poor battery life is another thing to point out, but it is not surprising at all for a 3G handset .You may need to charge it every other day.

In short, the 6500 Classic is charming and loveable because of its beautiful design and easy to use features. You can’t say it all-singing and all-dancing sort of phone, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. It has all that most people want to have from their phone, but it could be much better with a bit bigger key pad and good battery life.

You can get a lot of free stuff from the Internet if you really know how to get free stuff online. If you are a keen observer, you may realise that you can get thousands of free things from the Internet including free pens, free web hosting, free scripts ,free membership and if you are looking for something big, free PS3 , free Wii, free Xbox , free iPhone and even free cash.

There are thousands of websites that provide details about different freebies givers, but usually people ask “where can they find all these freebies.”

Truly speaking, there are a lot of places across the web where you can get a lot of freebies. You can search from specialty directories that offer freebies. Normally, they are large categorized directories that list a great amount of free stuff that is offered by different businesses all around the world.

Now you are thinking that none likes to give even a single penny for free these days then why these different businesses give away this free stuff? Actually, there are several reasons behind this generosity and one of the main reasons is that different businesses use it as a tool to promote their business. Usually these businesses imprint their business details on the offered stuff and thus they give their businesses more exposure from the online as well as from the offline world.

Aside from finding freebies using free stuff directories, you can also get free stuff from many other sites on the web. There are many individual sites that offer free stuff and free services and you can also make the most of these sites if you are also looking for real free online stuff.

It’s true that nothing is free these days; however you can get free stuff online if you really know how you can get it.

Did you ever fancy to annoy your friendly neighbor on flight by talking loudly through your cell phone? Well if not, now it is time to think about it as Ryanair will allow you to do the same with its in-flight mobile service that is due early next month.

‘Miniature mobile phone masts’ will be placed in 14 Ryanair’s 166 bargain-fare airplanes. So, now you can text or talk in the air as long as you want (or if your neighbor on flight doesn’t try to grab your phone and throttle you.)

These mini pico-cell powered phone masts could only handle around six calls at a time, but text must not jam the local in-flight network.

However, you need not to be so excited so soon, as O2 is planning to charge around £1.65 and £1.99 a minute to make or receive a call and for SMS 40p. An unspecified slice of this revenue will be given to Ryanair.

A spokesperson from Ryanair told that the company was planning to roll the service out across the entire fleet within next six months.

According to technology partner OnAir, the picocells that have been used in Ryanair’s in-flight mobile couldn’t interfere with any navigation equipment of the planes as it has been declared totally safe by the Aviation Safety Authority.

The iPhone and the Nokia N96: The two kings for one throne. Princes may be in hundreds, but the king is one who rules the kingdom and it’s not easy to be a King, particularly, if one is not an inborn king. However, so far the kingdom of cellphone industry is concerned, everyone is a self-claimed king. Apart from self-claimed kings there are some king cellphones that have been declared as the king of the ring by the users. Apple’s iPhone 3G and Nokia N96 are two kings of their respective rings, but what if we have to choose one from these two? Here, is a comparison to make it easier to choose from these two.

So far specs are concerned, they both are somewhat similar in specs and have a wealth of applications.

Though the N96 is big and wide, it feels nice in the hand with its decent built and solid chassis. On the other hand, iPhone 3G is smarter and wider than the N96.

It feels nice with aluminum back. In short, (without beating about the bush) iPhone 3G design is better than the N96.

iPhone’s applications are simple and easy to access while in the N96 we have the feel of menu climbing menu.

No doubt a class leading 5 megapixels, Carl Zeiss, twin LED camera on the back of N96 is matchless and it’s useless to compare it with iPhone’s 2Mp snapper without flash or video capability.

Both these phones don’t allow you to feel media deprived as they both are full of powerful media features. But the iPhone is on the edge with media power of its cousin iPod. I don’t think I need to tell you anything about iPod, as you may have flipped through thousands of Apple iPod reviews or even have that charming product.

So far internet is concerned; it’s always a strong point of iPhone that is loaded with power of safari browser to make mobile Internet experience nice. No doubt, the Nokia N96 also has a great web browser, but mobile surfing with mouse is absolutely crucial as it doesn’t have a touchscreen.

Battery life of both these phones are almost the same as they both have to be recharged after a day’s moderate –to-heavy use. The 3G coverage of the Nokia N96 is the point that makes it a better phone than the Apple’s iPhone. The poor 3G coverage of Apple’s iPhone is an open secret.

Have you got tired by seeing all those skeletal Size Zero mobile phones that pranced about on catwalks? Well, there is new Prada fashion phone from LG that is quite similar to real-life figures as its waistline has swollen a bit from 12mm to 17mm.

What’s the reason behind the bulk? A slider QWERTY keypad that allows only a 3-inch 240×400 resolution touchscreen isn’t the right thing to type properly.

The new Prada phone has swollen a bit like a pregnant woman in 1st trimester as it has an Infineon Mp-EH+M180 chipset, Wi-Fi, motion sensor and dual-band HSPDA inside.

So far camera and imaging are concerned; the integrated camera has been upgraded from a worthless 2MP (in the first handset) to a smart 5MP snapper.

We can expect a flamboyant announcement about the price very soon that will be comparable to Apple’s touch phone.

This service called “Tesco Talk Wi-Fi” is a trial product for Freshtel which has been launched two months back.
When an application to the mobile was downloaded, the service syncs with the contact list and SMS inbox automatically.

The application can be run on start-up and it automatically detects the other person is available on the same service or not. It also offers free calls and can route the call at Wi-Fi with lower rate service.

The handsets that are workable with the service are all those that were used for the trial including the Nokia N81, N95, E51 and E65 and in near future more handsets will be added in this array.

This is the first mid- range phone that has a 5mp camera that offers outstanding photo and video capabilities. Aside from nice camera and video features, it has a bombastic music player, Wii style games, FM radio and Bluetooth. It looks somewhat heavy and large and may find it with small internal memory, but it can be expanded up to 4GB with memory cards.

With a conventional keypad, the Orsay is a standard slide phone, but at first glance it looks like a phone from new generation of LG touchscreen phones. The nicest thing in the Orsay is its 5mp camera that features an image stabilizer, autofocus, Schneider-Kreuznach lens and a macro feature for close-ups. There is no xenon flash, but it has a powerful LED flash. It has a DVD-like resolution of 720×480 pixels that makes video recording capabilities quite impressive.

Unlike many other slide phones, the Orsay has a considerably large screen .Though resolution of 240×320 pixels is standard, the display is quite nice. The built looks quite large and heavy but to some people. The joystick (doesn’t look durable) is not remarkable, still the keypad works nice.

It also has a bombastic music player and FM radio as well. The integrated memory is just 12 MB, however, it can be expanded up to 4GB if you buy a micorSD memory card. Thus, you will be able to store almost 1,000 songs. The MP3 tracks can also be used as ringtones in the Orsay.

With its auto-rotate function, the photos can be automatically rotated from portrait to landscape form. You can play Wii-style games as it has a motion sensor.

Bluetooth as well as USB are available for connectivity. Though it is not a 3G phone, you can browse the web with GPRS or EDGE and the large screen makes mobile internet experience quite well. Battery life is not bad too as the phone looks quite big and heavy because of that very Battery.
