The Finns is quite habitual to release cell phone with lower prices and have been supplying these handsets to those emerging markets that are only interested in cell phone no matter whether they are loaded with lots of whistles and bells or not.  It’s, indeed, a big step from top cell phone manufacturer to introduce a 3G-enables cell phone with an impressive £71 price tag.

The other included handsets in this list have been made available for Asian markets and this Nokia move indicates that 3G is no more a thing that is limited only to power users.

When it comes to specs, they are light in the 2730 that has metallic finish in a candybar model; the arrival of this cell phone is due in the third Q of this year.

While the other two models (the 2720 and 7020) are available in clamshell design as well as a 2mp camera. Nokia is still looking to provide internet experience in these phones with slower connectivity.

There is a simple three step email set-up in the 2720 fold and it is available with a nice and impressive mirror effect design, so you can assume it quite shiny.

With QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen and 32GB storage, Nokia has just unveiled the Nokia N97: the new flagship model.

The N96 that has been competing with phones like Sony Ericsson’s XI, Samsung Omina, BlackBerry Storm and Apple’s iPhone 3G and it has also been serving as the Finns key flagship model, but now the N97 handset takes it over.

But the N97 will still take six months to be available in the market and it would definitely need to offer something special as the rival companies are also leaving no stone unturned to take something from the Finns’ lion share.

Nokia Device unit vice president, Jonas Geust says in this connection: “With this N97, there would be a new beginning of a new N-series.”

This Nokia N97 handset will be available in July next year with the price tag of £467.

As far as specs are concerned, it will be there with QWERTY slider, 32GB storage, 36hrs battery life, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and 3.5in touchscreen.

When it’s about camera, it will be a lot better than the iPhone 5MP camera and it will be there with DVD quality video capturing and Carl Zeiss lens.

According to Nokia’s claim, it will be something like the latest mobile computer.

In Nokia’s premium range of phones, the Nokia 8800 Arte is the latest handset after the 8800, 8800 Sirocco and 86 Luna respectively.

It seems that Nokia doesn’t seem satisfied with the price tag of £400 – £500 and that’s why the price is almost double. Perhaps, it’s because of price tag that the many of these phones are not seen in the street.

The standard 8800 Arte has a black metal and glass finish, but a Sapphire Arte version is also available in the market. Truly speaking, the Sapphire Arte doesn’t seem impressive at all, however, the black one is quite charming.

The best thing in the 8800 Arte its subtle design details and the highest quality materials and they become quite obvious when the phone responds. For example, you need just to turn the phone face down if you want to silence a ring. Similarly, when you tap the phone, it begins to display the time.

There are living wallpaper in the phone that change according to the time and state of the phone. Just like many other premium range phones, it has exclusive themes, graphics and ringtones. Usually, glossy black phones act as fingerprint magnet, but in the Arte 8800, there is a specific anti-fingerprint coating that protects phone from such problems and keeps it in the best possible condition.

So far features are concerned; this 3G mobile phone has a 3.2mp camera, nice display and a good music player. However, there is no radio unlike Sirocco and the 8600. Perhaps, the radio has not been included as Nokia’s recent market research suggests that a radio in mobiles isn’t a big deal these days. The phone has 1 GB built-in memory, but it comes without any memory card. Nokia thinks that 1GB of memory is enough for the users whom Nokia has targeted.

Weight-wise it’s quite heavy with 150g and this weight is because of excessive use of metal that can be seen in very and cranny of the phone. The Nokia 8800 Arte is slim, but we can’t say it an ultra-slim phone. It’s quite thinner than Samsung’s slide phone. The only thing that can be improved further is somewhat small keypad.

With the Nokia 8800 Arte, you can get several extras in the sales package (considering its price, you may not find it generous enough) including a linen-lined pouch, Bluetooth headset and a desk stand.

It seems that the Arte has been aimed at those who have plenty of disposable income and who want a design that is exclusively ahead of many other latest tech gadgets. Similarly, it is suitable for those who want to create an impression by sacrificing some degree of usability.

So far specs are concerned, they both are somewhat similar in specs and have a wealth of applications.

Though the N96 is big and wide, it feels nice in the hand with its decent built and solid chassis. On the other hand, iPhone 3G is smarter and wider than the N96.

It feels nice with aluminum back. In short, (without beating about the bush) iPhone 3G design is better than the N96.

iPhone’s applications are simple and easy to access while in the N96 we have the feel of menu climbing menu.

No doubt a class leading 5 megapixels, Carl Zeiss, twin LED camera on the back of N96 is matchless and it’s useless to compare it with iPhone’s 2Mp snapper without flash or video capability.

Both these phones don’t allow you to feel media deprived as they both are full of powerful media features. But the iPhone is on the edge with media power of its cousin iPod. I don’t think I need to tell you anything about iPod, as you may have flipped through thousands of Apple iPod reviews or even have that charming product.

So far internet is concerned; it’s always a strong point of iPhone that is loaded with power of safari browser to make mobile Internet experience nice. No doubt, the Nokia N96 also has a great web browser, but mobile surfing with mouse is absolutely crucial as it doesn’t have a touchscreen.

Battery life of both these phones are almost the same as they both have to be recharged after a day’s moderate –to-heavy use. The 3G coverage of the Nokia N96 is the point that makes it a better phone than the Apple’s iPhone. The poor 3G coverage of Apple’s iPhone is an open secret.

It’s indeed a nice cell phone that features some nice specs with a catchy design. The things that we found bad were the keys that were too plasticy and screen that was prone to scratches.

The Nokia N95 will be available in T-Mobile, Carphone Warehouse, Phone 4U, Orange and Vodafone.
There is no mention of O2 and reason perhaps is that the bubbly operator has enough on its plate as its running short of iPhone 3G stock.

Or may be Nokia has told O2 ‘It’s ok, you must have fun with your iPhone and we don’t want you to have our all-dancing, all-singing multimedia powerhouse’

We don’t know what the reason is, but basically you can’t get your hands on the set if you are O2.

If you want to get your N96 early, you must donate money to some red pandas somewhere. It’s not likely but Nokia has built an outlet with near the beginning stock and black and white bears have been staffed there.

Before the arrival of Nokia 5800 Tube that is being considered an iPhone killer, many believe that N96 will give iPhone a tough time for a while.

Nokia announced that Warner Music Group’s diverse catalog of new stars and well-known artists will be available all around the world at Nokia Music Stores and Nokia’s Comes With Music service that is considered a unique way for people to find out and enjoy music.
