The very first Open Source Symbian Software has been released through the Symbian organization’s plan to eventually release a new data base for mobile operating systems.

The Symbian Foundation was set up through the combined efforts of Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, NTT DoCoMo, Texas Instruments, Vodafone, Samsung, LG as well as AT & T back in June 2008. This development led to the growth of Symbian OS which has been a great platform for licensed as well as under the Eclipse Public Licence or EPL. There have been previously developed OS system solutions given through the Symbian Foundation.
