The N96 that has been competing with phones like Sony Ericsson’s XI, Samsung Omina, BlackBerry Storm and Apple’s iPhone 3G and it has also been serving as the Finns key flagship model, but now the N97 handset takes it over.

But the N97 will still take six months to be available in the market and it would definitely need to offer something special as the rival companies are also leaving no stone unturned to take something from the Finns’ lion share.

Nokia Device unit vice president, Jonas Geust says in this connection: “With this N97, there would be a new beginning of a new N-series.”

This Nokia N97 handset will be available in July next year with the price tag of £467.

As far as specs are concerned, it will be there with QWERTY slider, 32GB storage, 36hrs battery life, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and 3.5in touchscreen.

When it’s about camera, it will be a lot better than the iPhone 5MP camera and it will be there with DVD quality video capturing and Carl Zeiss lens.

According to Nokia’s claim, it will be something like the latest mobile computer.

Despite economic tensions throughout the year, Nokia still manages to get a healthy lead in the mobile phone sales charts. On the other hand, Motorola has lost almost a third of its market share.

Research Company IDC has published these figures that are based on market sales performance in the 3rd quarter of this year in a comparison with the same period last year.

The other players in the cell phone market did well, as Samsung and LG powering ahead .Similarly, Sony Ericsson has been hammered by others players in mobile phone sales in some markets, but it still manages to remain in fourth place with 0.8decrease in its market share.

But for Moto, it’s, indeed, quite worrisome time that lost 31.7 percent of its share during the last year that is now just down to 12.7 percent.

There are several reasons behind that fall: The fact is that Motorola fails to come up with a handset as good as RAZR.

How can we forget iPhone? It has helped Apple tag two per cent of the market in the pervious year or so?

However, the Nokia again succeeded to overtake all with its global Q3 market share of 39.4 percent and shrugged off the economic slowdown worldwide.

DivX and Samsung jointly announce that some selected digital TVs could play DivX format movies from next year.

Now users will be able to play DivX format movies on Samsung’s TVs just using USB ports or Ethernet to reach DLNA.

Samsung and DivX are already enjoying good relationship and many of Samsung’s new phones have DivX support.

Recently, DivX and Warner Bros have announced a deal to allow users download SD and HD movies from the catalogue of Warner Bros. You may see a lot of other such deals in the coming days.

You will be able to enjoy DivX-certified Samsung devices in early 2009 and it will be quite earlier than the release of HD Warner Bros, it will cause further dispersion of the DLNA networks that are already available in many homes.

The same format has been supported by LG in some of its TVs and once again Samsung follows its Korean rival by doing the same, as it has already done with mobile phones.

There are some reports that suggest, Samsung is making a new phone with such specs and features as other phones could only dream of. The codename of this closely kept secret is the Bresson.

According to these reports, Bresson will be available soon with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, an 8Mp camera and high-end office functionality.

The phone has not been confirmed by the Samsung, but it has made it to the ‘coming soon’ sections of independent phone retailers.

It is being said that with its 15.mm, it will be 1.7-inch thinner than i8510 that has been recently released and thus it may become one of the thinnest mobile phones available in the market today.

There is also the same GPS and accelerometer that has been used in the Omnina, however, it has not been revealed whether it will also use Windows Mobile or not.

It can support full HD TV, so it can pretty much hold anything you run or try for entertainment through it. So far storage is concerned; it can expand up to 16GB using a memory card. Soon, there will be a decent review to tell you a lot about this phone. So, wait and watch.

With Bang & Olufsen external speakers and novel dual-slide, the Samsung F400 is no doubt a nice music phone that offers you a new rich experience of music. There is an iPod-like MusicWheel that makes controlling of the music player quite well.

For the best music experience, it allows you to plug in your own headphones with the 3.5mm jack for an exceptional music experience. Aside from good music features, it has a 3 mp camera with autofocus, Bluetooth, MicroSD memory card slot and 3G HSDPA.

In this dual slider phone and just like a conventional slide phone, you have to slide it up to access the keypad and to see the speaker you have to slide it down as an external speaker is located at the phone.

The F400 has somewhat outstanding music capabilities as it has been especially designed as a music phone. The audio quality is 100 percent with external stereo speakers and the Bang & Olufsen ICEpower technology. Extra bass emits as there is a specific smart bass feature. You will find the audio quality superb with external speakers as well as with 3.5mm headphone jack. The music player supports almost all well known digital formats like MP3, WMA and OMA Digital Rights Management 1.0. It also has a built-in FM radio.

It has music controls very similar to iPod MusicWheel and a music hotkey is also there that makes access to the music player quite easy. A Sony Ericsson’s like TrackID music recognition feature is also there that allows you to find out the track and artist information with the recording part of some song.

We can’t say it superslim, but it is quite compact and fits snugly into the hand. The keypad slides open with smooth and ease without creating any problems to the keys. It’s not superslim and there is an advantage of it and that is, a larger capacity battery has been fitted inside that offers a good battery life.

As a 3G phone, it supports fast music downloads through HSDPA 3.6 Mbps and supports USB 2.0 connectivity and full Bluetooth 2.0 as well. Besides SMS and MMS, you can also send and receive emails with this F400. It houses a handy document viewer feature to view attachments.

So far camera is concerned; it’s a good mid-ranger with 3mp, autofocus and an LED flash. It allows you to record video in MPEG4 or 3GPP formats and it has another camera as well for video calling. The display is just like as we can expect from such sort of phone with 320×240 pixels standard resolution and 262k colors.

The thing that makes F400 miserable is the internal memory of just 20MB, but it can be expanded up to 8 GB with a microSD card and allows you to store around 2000 MP3 tracks.

Samsung offered over £2.5bn for the buyout of the company, but according to Sandisk, the figure is no more than an opportunistic attempt to reap the benefits of SanDisk’s current stock price. SanDisk’s share shot up 52 per cent to $22.82 after the news of the deal.

Sandisk said that Samsung showed that might pay a specific premium on the $28.75 per share price recorded on May 22, 2008 and it was the time when talks really started.

On the other hand, Samsung says that the current offer of $26 per share is quite fair and full and it further says that the deal is still on.

Samsung and SanDisk are known as the biggest companies in the emerging flash memory market as SanDisk is known as one of the biggest memory card manufacturers while NAND memory is the product of Samsung.

During the past few years, the capacity of flash memory has considerably increased even up to 256GB that’s making them quite suitable for laptops and similarly in many high end mobile phones memory can be significantly expanded using memory card.

Samsung’s LE40A656 is an emblem of unique manufacturing process that produces Samsung’s well-known black gloss finish adding a delicate hint of deep red. Besides this stylistic mix, there is another industry’s first from Samsung as it’s the only flat panel T.V. to dole out with the use of glue or screws in the process of making. These efforts give this flat panel such looks as it has been craved from a hard block.

About Features

In addition to usual composite, S-video inputs and other component there are striking 4(v1.3) HDMI inputs.1080p/24 input can be accepted by the v1.3 HDMI’s that are quite favorable for Deep Color and can also control well-suited devices via single remote using the CEC standard.

MP3 music files and digital still JPEG’s can be enjoyed with the USB. There is an instinctive slide show function that allows users to select the speed of a slide show and users can even set an MP3 track as background music.

Its worth mentioning that there is a 120MHz mode in the LE40A656 and it has been designed to produce sleeker playback of 24fps because 120 MHz is an a right multiple of 24 fps, that proves very helpful to keep processing algorithms simple.

About Performance

This LE40A656 has somewhat harshly original HD material in it. Most of HD material in this LE40A656 will leave you with wide open mouth as its full HD resolution offer incredible detail, vibrancy and sharpness in the picture.

It can’t be considered a nice thing for a real accomplished picture performance to convert a Standard Definition (SD) into 1920×1080 pixels, but this LE40A656 has done this as one could expect. Without any doubt, it is one of the most accomplished SD performers we have ever seen.
