This gadget now out in Japan is a very slim looking PlayStation which brings a lot of different pieces together. Sony’s 20GB, 40 GB as well as 60 GB PlayStation 3 have been all arcane figures now with the new inclusion in the models of 80 GB as well as 160 GB.

From August 9th these would be released to be represented in Japan and would be noted to be making mega leaps in the market and over all, the history of PlayStation.

They are going to be released in Japan for a limited time period and there after would be available on special request to the manufacturers. Store owners are going to take in-store displays for the 80 GB model and bringing in the slimmer versions of course.

With whimsical speculations there are going to be some rather limited release and not all are going to be able to grab these gadgets no matter how one wants for now.

To inflame a new wave in LCD competition, Samsung Mobile Display is getting ready to produce its OLED TV that will be available in 14.1” and 31” screen sizes.

After the emergence of XEL-1 OLED TV from Sony, people have been waiting for the arrival of its true competitor, and now these new panels from Samsung are expected to give some really tough time to it, as they will be used in laptops.

Samsung is going to utilize a technology that is known as Fine Metal Mask technology, as some costly materials have also been dropped in an effort to make OLEDS cost effective.

The 14.1” display has a 1366×768 resolution with Widescreen XGA and you will find it equipped with all other traditional traits of the today’s available OLEDs that include contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and 2.7mm thickness, so we can really expect some really sleek laptops in the coming days.

When it comes to 31” TV panel, it is full HD with 1920X1080resolution and you will find the same contrast ratio as in the above stated display. It will be available with 8.9mm thickness. You will soon find some other LCDs in the coming days that are being designed to give a tough time to that depth.

When it comes to their release, no word so far and similarly no details have yet emerged regarding prices.

According to CNET News, Sony is in talks with different recording companies to provide music for its PSP.

However, these sources told that the talks regarding music downloads were preliminary and right now no deal has been signed yet. PlayStation Network is Sony’s promising multiplayer gaming and digital download service and now Sony is looking to offer music downloads on it. PSP will directly come into competition with different multiuse players including the iPhone.

Many believe that PSP can effectively play videos, music and games, but it’s not fully utilizing its potential yet. With its array on nice games and bigger screen, the PSP can compete with devices like the iPod.

Earlier Sony was found to have a walled-garden approach towards the content and to watch videos on the device, the company requires physical media support and its customers need to purchase Discs, mini DVDs and other such stuff that was only limited to PSPs.

During the last few months, the gaming sector seemed to be flooded with rumors including that Sony was considering releasing a totally changed PSP. There were some reports which showed that there will be a larger screen as well as slide out controls and it wouldn’t play UMDs any longer.

According to Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter, “it is quite sensible to believe why Sony is trying to get more and more content for their device.”

“Sony is looking to offer it, but at present a Sony PSP game can’t be downloaded to an iPod Touch, as the OS do not allow this,” he adds.

Sony’s first digital music player was Remember the Music Clip and in it the company seemed to ignore the MP3 preference that was a much desired option for a large number of consumers.

This DS cartridge will be released on the Boxing Day and it has also been named as 100 Classic Book Collection. Yup your guess may be that it contains one hundred classic books.

Nintendo joined Genius Sonority for developing and HarperCollins as the publisher for the development of its new interface that will allow readers to brush a finger to turn over its electronic pages or move the on the touchscreen and hold the DS in a vertical way just like any other book.

User will find A Tale of Two Cities, Pride and Prejudice and Treasure Island in its first release and similarly some other stuff will also be available for download soon.

Currently the available tools at the DS are just limited to search a story by its length or category and book marking. There are many powerful features available in typical dedicated e-books including making annotations.

The price tag you will at the DS is just £100 that is considerably lower than the £199 price tag of the Sony Reader; however, if Nintendo wants to make it a real success, it will definitely need to offer much more than just Jane Austen or Charles Dickens.

He believes that the iPod serves as the better gaming device than Sony’s PSP and Nintendo’s DS.

Joswiak told in a recent interview with T3 that the recent passed quarter was iPod’s biggest non-holiday quarter ever.

“So, iPod proved quite impressive and a big part of its success was the launch of the September products. No doubt, we surprised a lot of people with the success of the iPod touch,”

According to Joswiak, games are quite essential to the iPhone and iPod touch success. He says, “Games have been the biggest category of all in the apps store, as there were more than 1500 games with a great affinity between the iPod touch customer and these games.”

Joswiak opines: “iPod gaming can’t be categorized just in ‘casual’ games and these games have really surprised a lot of people and the reason is they are not just causal games. You will find there real 3D games and may surprise to note that we are a little over 100 days into it.”

“The devices like Nintendo DS and Sony PSP will prove more than the past of gaming. The iPod is easier to carry and has the touch display and accelerometer that make game play a real nice experience. It is also the electronic distribution of the apps.”

Regarding future of gaming on Apple’s devices, Josiwak says: “You will find everything on the store from the casual games to the 3D-oreinted games, action games and everything that will make gaming totally changed and far more exciting and joyful experience than ever. Our developers are doing the nice job and working on original content ideas and we are hopeful that they will blow everyone away.”

“The iPod touch will always in your pocket and you wouldn’t need to carry some other consoles,” he added.

Apparently, the NS1 seems to promise design, values and quality bring together that creates a well balanced and everyday users’ accessible notebook.

It comes with the X-Black LCD widescreen display, a 15.4-inch screen size, a wide range of colors and Draft-N wireless networking. You can also add Blu-ray in that list if you are willing to pick the flagship of the range.
People who don’t want a PC to take up too much room, the Vaio S1 is, indeed, a right choice.

It becomes an attractive prospect with a compact keyboard, 3GB RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 500GB HDD.

Marketing director for Sony’s Vaio in Europe, Hidetoshi Takigawa, said “ This has been especially designed for those users who want exceptional features , charming design and ease of use together.”

Though there was news that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 had outclassed the PS3 in the major battle ground of Japanese market, Jack Tretton from Sony said that PSP sales were way ahead of target.

Tretton added, “Sales of the PS3 models are almost 30% ahead of what we were expecting.”
Tretton says that he thinks that the addition of a Blu-ray player in the PS3 and its reasonable price in the economic hard times make a good prospect.

“Now people think and go to question every dollar they spend aside from looking for value in return. In PlayStation 3, the entertainment value can be compared to other favorable entertainment choices.”

If compared to many other available consoles, PS3 may be expensive but it keeps you stuck in front of the telly and promises a memorable gaming experience to the users who like real gaming of the unreal world.

In this slimline computer, there is an 11.1-inch XBERITE-DuraView LCD display with LED backlight that makes it ideal for Blu-ray Disc movies.

And if you are really a real film fan, you may prefer to use its HDMI connection.

For those who want style with smartness, the TT is available in a wide range of colors including silk black, carbon-fiber black, crimson red and champagne gold.

Under nice colors and slim looks, it houses Intel Centrino 2 processors from 1.2GHz to 1.4GHz range, 2GB to 4GB RAM and a 160GB to 256GB hard drive.

It’s not only Microsoft that is preparing a new Xbox, behind closed doors, to succeed its Xbox 360, but Sony is also working on its PlayStation 4.

According to the Internet rumor mills, the next console battle is expected during 2011-2012 as it’s a time when industry analyst Colin Sebastian and Crytek’s CEO Cevat Yerli are expecting a possible Xbox 720 and PS4.

To know about the capabilities of a PS4, it is essential to know what this current PS3 has and what not. It seems that Sony will certainly need to closely assimilate the software development and hardware components for the PS4.

We may see some obvious technology upgrades like 802.11n chipset instead of 802.11b/g if the PS4 is just a restoration of the PS3. Similarly, we should expect a massive hard disk, an increase in the onboard memory, and a new graphics processor.

We may also see a replacement for the PS3’s NVIDIA-built RSX graphics processor? There are rumors as well that Microsoft may use Intel’s Larrabee chip in the coming Xbox to fix a real-time physics and AI.

We can consider a strong argument to drop an optical drive from the PS4 as the PS3 was somewhat involved in helping Blu-ray beat off HD DVD. We know well that game demos, full-length movies, TV shows and video trailers of gigabytes-worth are being downloaded by the console owners. In PS4, a mammoth hard disk would help to pipe the game straight to the console on the day of release and there would be no longer install load times.

What consumers really want from a PS4? Well, the consumers are expecting to have a machine that can play the best games and give them new tastes of gaming experience as they had from PS2. The PS4 can go one of two ways: the best all-capable box that provides integrated playTV, larger hard disk and Blu-ray and the other way is to present a pure gaming machine with mass market appeal.

There will be an eBook themed event in NYC on 2nd October 08, as the company is issuing press invites these days. Yup! Sony is going to announce a newer version of its eBook tech.

The event is being held at the “Bookmarks Lounge” of the Library Hotel, New York. The press invite says, “We are going to open a new chapter on digital reading, so join us.” The image of this press invite is available on the internet.
There are little details about the event, but it’s quite obvious that it would be about the information about eBook technology that Sony will present in front of the press.

It seems that eBook market is going to be hot again as Kindle 2.0 will be on the horizon during 2009 (though there is no announcement about the UK launch from Amazon UK). However, we hope for the best and suggest keeping an eye on eBook market right now.

If you want to know about what’s currently available for Sony’s Reader Digital Book, you can go for the online bookstore for a browse.

There will be more reports about the event after some time, but till then, you can know more about the new advancements made in e-ink and e-paper from Plastic Logic.
