Rumor or reality, time will tell, but there are reports that Acer is going to launch an Android-powered handset in September this year.

According to a report published in the Philippine Business Mirror says that Acer has confirmed that its Android-powered handset will be available this year.

The handset is expected to feature a touchscreen and it will be one of E1, F1, L1 and C1 handsets that have been announced last month. It seems to fit nicely in the roadmap that Acer has already provided in a recent event.

Philippine Business Mirror refused to name their source and that’s why one needs to take these rumors something more than just a rumor. But recently, Acer has refused to exclude Android in a previous event.

There are many big players of the cell phone industry who have pledged to be the part of Android party. Sony Ericsson, LG, Smasung and Motorola are some of these players. However, it seems that Samsung may appear as the first to come up with a true Android device.

According to some reports, HTC is going to debut its Magic from Vodafone by the end of May 09. So, Acer be quick in your efforts if you really want to ride Android fanaticism wave that may overcome the entire mobile world.

This new Eee Pc is a Dual Touchscreen Flipbook PC, which is likely to be appreciated worldwide.

This innovative idea from Asus is still in its early concept stage. It has not been announced yet when do the manufacturers plan to introduce it in the market. It is a Community Designed PC, possessing two touch screen panels, made as a flipbook.

It is created to be used as a laptop, an e-book reader and a multimedia center.

The flipbook can be used as a laptop when flipped in a notebook position. One among the two screens can be used as a display, while the other one can transform into an on-screen keyboard and a touch-pad. If user requires more space, the virtual keyboard may be stretched across both screens.

When used as an e-book reader, it is to be held like an opened book, both screens showing the pages, exactly like a hard cover book. Mere gestures of the user flip pages, making it none less than a real book reading experience!

Also, the device can be used a multimedia hub, where both the screens can be combined and joined together to enjoy wider and better display. Thus, the new Dual Touch screen Flipbook PC by Asus provides its users with a wide range of functionality.

Though, the new technical gadget lacks an option of connecting to a keyboard, its other qualities over shadow this discrepancy.

Asus has grown quite rapidly over the past decade. Eee PC brand has acted as a catalyst in company’s expansion. Dual Touchscreen Flipbook PC seems to have the potential to further increase in its manufacturers’ growth.

As BlackBerry is quite well-known for it exceptional mobile email and web browsing, the Storm has been built on the same BlackBerry reputation.

It has a nice touchscreen user interface with a full virtual QWERTY Keypad. There is a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and autofoucus , a media player, GPS navigation, video recording, GPS navigation, 3G with HSPDA, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and 1GB built-in memory that can be expanded with a microSD card.

BlackBerry makers RIM have been chasing the mass market for the last two years.Though they include cameras, music players and even GPS navigation system onto their business smartphones, they couldn’t succeed to fully capture the mass market. Now with the BlackBerry Storm, they have really created a real mass market product.

After the release of Apple’s iPhone and iPhone 3G, almost all cell phone makers have been trying to produce an iPhone killer and now there is BlackBerry’s answer.

This is the first BlackBerry that has a touchscreen user interface that makes it a nice mass market product.

BlackBerry phones are popular for their mobile email and web browsing, and the Storm is not different from others. It allows you to easily enter text with a virtual keyboard .

Because of its support for attachments, power, ease of use and wide compatibility with all email protocols; it beats all other cellphone makers email systems.

It also features an attachment editor that allows you to edit word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on the phone. Similarly, it provides the fastest possible download speeds on any phone with HSDPA that runs at 7.2Mbps.

A good camera and media player are somewhat essential to conquer the mass market and fortunately the Storm has both (Though Apple forgot that fact).

The camera has 3.2 megapixels resolution with autofocus and LED flash. It is the best camera phone around, but it takes reasonable pictures and quite good for print quality pictures.

The media player supports every common audio format and synchs with iTunes.

Almost all common audio format and synchs with iTunes are supported by its media player. The built-in memory is 1 GB and it can be expanded to a whopping 16GB with microSD memory cards it means you can store almost 4,000 MP3 tracks with it.

Another great feature of the Storm is its 3.5mm audio jack that allows you to connect any standard stereo headphones. This great feature is missing from many rival phones.

It has a built-in GPS and it has BlackBerry Maps, so you can easily find your way around. The combination works nice with the large touchscreen and makes it ideal for pedestrian use.

Its battery life is said to be 360 hours standby and 5.5 hours talk time and no doubt these are good figures for a touchscreen phone with so many features and applications.

There were just glimpses on the internet that made the blades of the rumor mill run. Yup, we are talking about Sony Ericsson’s the Xperia X5 that has a touchscreen and 8MP camera.

The speculation didn’t cause much surprise as Sony Ericsson is one of the mobile makers considered to have a high-end touchscreen phone ‘under process’.

But you must note that these rumors are consisted of somewhat more than basic specs and have some spy pictures( though it may prove nothing more than fiction) at present as well.

The specs reveal that it will be available with an 8GB internal memory, a huge 3.2-inch touch screen (‘that’s not too fantastic’ as they say), Wi-Fi and 3.5G connectivity. Let’s wait and see when we find more specs details in different PDA phone reviews

Isn’t it strange that even Xperia XI is not available and SE has directly jumped to five with Xperia X5?

Perhaps’ it’s a made-up cell phone or perhaps we would see the next four in that budding Xperia family very soon.
