My self-esteem is not low enough to CARE what the lady next door is saying about me or anyone else! If I were to entertain the thought of responding to anything said about me on Facebook (of which I am not now nor will I ever become a part of) then I have stooped to a new low in life.

And as far as reconnecting with people I haven't talked to or even thought about in DECADES, one has to think: they haven't kept up with me, either. Hello?!?!?!?!?!?

And, yes, I've gone to the site and looked around. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. All I could think was, "Don't these people have anything IMPORTANT to do? I'm sure most have work to get done and/or children to spend time with. And do any of these "friends" really, actually care about YOU? Or are you nothing more than someone who gave them yet another sucker to add to their "friends" list.

Really, people. It's not the number of friends you have (real or virtual) that heightens your sense of self-worth. Think about it.

I'm a teen and I agree with many aspects of this article - Facebook is not only a way to connect with friends and family but it can also be a way to expand businesses and reach out to new audiences. You can also meet new people with your interests and hobbies, as well as connect in groups and communities. I write for a blog called Radical Parenting (www.radicalparenting.com), which is advice from teens to parents. We have an article called "Degrees of Facebookability" which may add a new perspective on this topic. Feel free to check it out: http://www.radicalparenting.com/2009/07/27/degrees-of-facebookability-why-did-you-join-or-not/
Thanks!

More over there are n number of applications and games that will never leave u bored. It is the best way to maintain good relations with the people living far away...
Talk about the groups for that matter.....
You make a group regarding some topic, than invite people to join it and finally u get a place where your viewpoint reaches to all the people u care for.
N those who do not use facebook..... U seriously does not exist...
