Intel introduced Arc mobile graphics cards

Electronic devices and computer components manufacturer Intel has announced Intel Arc Mobile GPUs. Three families are presented - Arc 3, 5 and 7. All of them support XeSS scaling technology.

Features

Throughout the Arc family of GPUs, Intel's graphics architecture is based on four main pillars: the XE Core, XE Media Engine, XE Display Engine and the XE Graphics Pipeline. All Arc cards will also have the same basic feature set, including support for DirectX 12 Ultimate, ray tracing, XE Super Sampling, AV1 hardware acceleration, and more.

The entry-level Intel Arc 3 family of mobile GPUs will debut with two SKUs, the Intel Arc 3 A350M and Intel Arc 3 A370M. The former has six Xe graphics cores and the latter has eight. Each Xe core is accompanied by one ray tracing module, and this is true for the entire SKU stack. The graphics clock speed is 1150 MHz on the A350M and 1550 MHz on the A370M. Both SKUs come with 4GB of dedicated memory. The A350M has a TDP range of 25 to 35 watts. And the A370M is designed for a TDP range of 35 to 50 watts.

The Intel Arc 5 A550M has 16 Xe cores clocked at 900 MHz and 8GB of memory. And the Arc 7 A730M comes with 12GB of video memory and 24 Xe cores. For now, the best SKU is the Intel Arc 7 A770M with 32 Xe cores clocked at 1650 MHz and 16 GB of video memory. It is also designed to run between 120 and 150 watts.

Intel has only revealed the performance figures of the Intel Arc A370M GPU. Combined with an Intel Core i7-12700H processor, the entry-level Arc 3 GPU can deliver a minimum of 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution in several popular AAA games such as Hitman 3, Doom Eternal, Total War Saga: Troy, F1 2021, Age of Empire IV, Destiny 2, The Witcher, Strange Brigade and others.

Availability

Laptops with Intel Arc 3 discrete graphics are available now for pre-order in select markets. Laptops with Intel Arc 5 and Arc 7 discrete GPUs should be available this summer.
