MediaTek 5nm Dimensity 8000

The Taiwanese company MediaTek introduced new single-crystal systems Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 8100. "The hardware is designed for subflagship smartphones.

According to the manufacturer, the novelties received technology from the older Dimensity 9000, while they are manufactured using a 5 nm process and should provide high performance. The Dimensity 8000 and 8100 are quite similar in their specifications: both have four Cortex-A78 cores, four 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

The difference between the novelties is that the higher processor cluster of Dimensity 8100 runs at up to 2.85 GHz, while the lower Dimensity 8000 has the frequency of up to 2.75 GHz. This difference is unlikely to be noticeable in practice.

As for other parameters, the novelties support cameras of up to 200 megapixels, screens of up to 168 Hz in case of FHD and up to 120 Hz in case of WQHD, LPDDR5-6400 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash memory. In addition, the platforms include a 5G modem with download speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps.
