Some recent statistics suggest that Motorola is still on top in the mobile phone maker stakes in the United States.
Though Motorola losing ground in almost all countries worldwide, it built on a strong history in the US to remain on top. In US, there was 5.3 percent increase in mobile phone sales during the past year.
The increasing importance for high-speed connectivity to the consumers, results LG to leap back into the top two phone makers.
By achieving more than 10 percent of the market share first time in the history of the company, RIM’s BlackBerry also showed some healthy signs in the US market.
The report was authored by the company Strategy Analytics. Neil Mawstone, Director of the company told that Motorola had an excellent quarter and kept its No.1 position in the US market with 25.8 percent market share.
“Its strong distribution network and profound carrier-relationships proved quite helpful to maintain its share in GSM as well as in CDMA markets. Though the company is not out of the woods, there is a silver lining that indicates to stabilization.”
